'twas the very best halloween night yet.

Last year on Halloween I was on DAY 2 of plexus 🎃👻😜. At the end of the day I realized I hadn't eaten a single piece of candy 😳🍬🍭. I thought that must be placebo 😂😭 so I ate a peanut butter cup and hid another on the top shelf of my pantry for the next day. Mama has to hoard and hide y'all 😂😭. Normally this would have been gone the next day after lunch, but last night while i was digging around for the pumpkin 🎃 carving 🗡 stencils I ran into my old friend and started laughing out loud. My old #candy hoarding tactics 😂😭🍬🍭🍪🙈 bahahaha!!!! Happy to report it wasn't Placebo, and that my old friend Reese's Peanut Butter Cup was right where I forgot about him. HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃👻

without any rush to get to the next

This year will forever be the year that's engrained in my mind as 

the "year of the little boys." 

It took us two attempts to go walking today 

bc the first time we got caught in a sudden downpour. 

Like hiding under trees bc a flash flood literally appeared out of nowhere 

Also, if you missed the breaking news, there was a tornado in Utah today, 

and I swear to you the skies were swirling all day long across the entire state. 

I have video to prove it. Have you ever seen an entire sky of clouds move in circles??? 

Like FAST circles with an eerie black, grey sky. 

Well Maria and I did today, and it was NUTS! 

So in between our two walks today we sat in the garage 

and went in and out to be in the rain. 

I told chase the wetter he got, the taller he'd grow. Basically I bribed him to brush death with lightening, but let me tell you, it was my favorite part of the entire day. 

I think the best part of being able to do the little years part deux 

is that you know it's not going to last, 

and you know they're going to grow up and get obnoxious, 

so basically anything they do that might have been "naughty" 

when your oldest child did it at the same age just seems sweet and innocent 

with the second pack that comes through. 

Love these little boys, 

and this year where we get to soak it all in 

without any rush to get to the next.

we've officially hit the point in summer 

where we are all just ready to be back in school.

late nights are old.

except when they're not.

you get to this place, and you wonder 

how did i ever want school to be out?

you wonder if you're just being negative,

and then you see a mom at costco with 4 kids.

2 of them are going for blood,

the baby is asleep in the cart covered in pizza sauce,

and the 4th is doing the potty dance,

and you just give each other the

"keep calm, and may the odds be ever your favor"

look.

you KNOW the look.

no hand signals necessary.

it's times like these where you don't care one bit about enjoying the last days of summer.

you just want school to start.

carpools, and crazy mornings, and not homework at all.

ain't nobody that misses homework.

but then the next day,

everyone sleeps in until 9am,

you make little pita pocket pizzas for lunch,

{maybe there's no vegetable, but darn it, it was hand made, 

and you didn't even make the kids microwave it themselves 

bc you were feeling so generous right then and there}.

you read books at the lunch table,

and go for a walk,

and the thought of carpools and early mornings just seems like nothing you'd ever

want to actually do, and you can't believe you were wishing for that just the day before.

and that's when it hits you.

just when you can't handle the flow, the ebb comes in and makes it alllllll ok.

also hormones.

it's possible hormones might be involved in all of this.

either way,

when you get to this point in summer,

ain't nobody cares about 4 servings of veggies a day;)

that's for sure.
