The Schedule

I have a love hate relationship with Brennan's routine. I love the routine on most days, but on others I feel like I have forgotten how to live a little!!! I think part of it has to do with the craziness of the first 2 months Brennan was here and the other part being that the kid can't nap anywhere but in his crib. No crib=No nap=Unhappy Everybody. Sometimes when I forget the schedule to do something with the family or to run errands I feel so guilty! It's strange how two things can tug on you so hard.

Look What Brennan's Learning to Do!

We could not believe it, but when we went to visit Sean's cousin's baby we sat Brennan in front of the TV and he sat up by himself for 5 whole minutes without any help! Do you think it has to do with the beach volleyball ladies in bikinis??? I took far too many pictures, of coarse.

Iowa and Arizona

At the end of April we took Brennan to Ottumwa, Iowa to visit Em's side of the family. Grandma Ryan was so excited to see us! Brennan was 8 weeks old and not on any sort of a schedule. We are pretty sure Adam and Kelsey will never have children based on Brennan's behavior. Life is much smoother now that we have a schedule. Yay for Baby Wise!

The first week of May (two days after getting home from Iowa) we flew to Pheonix, Arizona for our niece's baptism. Sean's family was all there for the big event. Sean's big sister Natalie helped us sleep train Brennan. We called it Baby Bootcamp. Thank goodness! We took Brennan swimming for the first time in Natalie's pool and got completely addicted to Guitar Hero. It's the only thing Emily wants for Christmas...along with a Wii to play it on;-)

Brennan's Blessing

We blessed Brennan July 13, 2008. Yes, he was so old he crawled up to the blessing cirlce;-) We had a family luncheon in our backyard after church.

Brennan Ryan Gibson 9.4lbs. 21 1/2 in.

Brennan was born March 4th, 2008 at 7:29pm. He was an astounding 9 pounds and 4 ounces!!! and 21 1/2 inches long. Heaven bless epidurals! My dad flew in the day we came home from the hospital to meet his new grandson, and of coarse Mom was beaming. Isn't she beautiful!? She has been very helpful with Brennan. I don't know how people have babies without their family close by.

Brennan is 6 months old now, and we can't believe how much he has grown! He is learning to sit up and grabs everything. We have been swimming all summer, and Brennan now knows when we are going to dunk him. He closes his eyes and lips tightly just before going under. We never knew you could love something so much!!! It is so fun to listen to his coos and laughing. If we could just get him to put his own pacifer in at night life would be perfect;-)

Sean is starting Fall classes next week and had a great time during his summer clinical internship in Bountiful. He worked for Performance West for 10 weeks. He even went back to shadow after his internship had ended. We are so happy he enjoys what he does!

I am loving Brennan's schedule and have lots of fun playing with him when he is awake. I have started swimming with a girlfriend once a week and am trying to start running again. It feels so good to get out and do something when I have the time. I am reading my stack of books every chance I get, but the two I am most excited about right now are Emily Griffin's "Love the One You're With" and "Breaking Dawn" from the Twilight series. I am looking forward to the crisp Fall air and changing leaves. There is something magical about this time of year. I think I might actually enjoy Halloween for the first time in a long time!!! All of you teachers know what I mean:-)
