BUMbo

i'm pretty sure i chewed my mom out for putting my first born up on the table like this.
either in the bouncer or the bumbo.
one of the two.
or both.
the warning has since peeled off, as you can see.
my how things change.
how could i leave little miss max on the floor when she wanted to be up with me???;-)

"hungry, hungry, hungry MAN!!!"

i'm no genius,
but i think he was hungry.
the eating machine woke up at 3am for a snack too.
"hunry, hunry, hunry!"
so i fed him some yogurt, cuddled him on the couch, and went back to bed.
next thing i knew the phlebotomist was at our door bright and early.
her name was beth.
she was very pleasant.
it was for our life insurance.
blood, urine, weight, blood pressure.
thankfully i did not pass out.
apparently, that is reserved only for pregnancy blood draws.
best news of the morning?
the scale in our bathroom is 5 pounds OVER.
beth said hers was very accurate.
yesssssssssssssssss!

big leagues

"no!"
"be careful!"
brennan gets sick of hearing them.
i get sick of saying them.
and yesterday, we were sick of them a lot.
it was an "at each other's throats" kind of day in the morning.
i was feeling like a crappy parent.
he wanted me to play all day.
i wanted to clean up my house.
that sounds really dumb now.
then came the cookies.
i was making them for a luncheon,
but i didn't want any of us to eat them.
uh yeah.
toddlers don't understand "not now, later" when the fragrences of cookies are wafting through the air.
i resisted for about 30 minutes too long.
then my patience was gone.
i laughed for a few seconds, covered my face, and just gave up on not ruining his lunch.
it felt good to just relax about the entire thing.
man, i can get so uptight about some things.
so we ate the crumbs that fell through the cooling racks.
went to the luncheon.
where he screamed b/c i didn't have anything to give him but water.
then refused to eat.
i wished i had just stayed home.
then we came home.
i fed him pb&j.
he took a crappy nap.
and we went outside.
the afternoon sun saved us.
he fell off that slide backwards right after this picture.
he didn't cry.
he just wanted to get up and do it again.
boy, we're in trouble.
then he ate two handfuls of big league chew.
and swallowed it.
that should be interesting on the way out.
i loved that stuff.
i hope he learns gum soon.

counter TERRORist!

i came back from putting max down for her nap and found this:

'nuff said.
...
laughing kinz.
video was all scratchy on mine.
pretty sure the camera is about to die.
which would be right on time b/c everything is braking right now.
just in the knick of time.
in the knick of BAD timing, that is.
such is life.
laughing baby will cure all ills.

really nice.

even at the end of may,
i love a good snow.
b/c by august i've had it with the heat.
dr. scout master on the other hand,
along with the rest of the state of utah,
do not appreciate this kind of weather right now.
but if going out in a snowstorm on may 24th to take a picture of the snow for your wife is not love,
i don't know what is;-)
hey, i was nursing a baby, i couldn't go out there!
baaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!
...
p.s.
the power went out with a BANG! last night.
it was almost 5am.
i was up feeding max.
i always forget how dark and quiet things are when the power's out.
it was really nice.
i was thinking about my pork in the crockpot that didn't have power anymore.
listening to max breathe with a stuffy nose.
i asked dr. scout master if he thought the pork would be ok.
he mumbled yes and rolled over.
after that i slept like a baby.
smelling pork.
which isn't so nice at 5am.
or 8am.
but dinner cooking all day while it's snowing.
that's nice.
really nice.
