black tie affair.

the baby man with his top hat.
it's always an afternoon black tie affair over here.

 give him a bowl of cheerios and he'll be entertained for half an hour.
or 10 minutes.
whichever.
dump them all out.
eat a few.
put them all back in.
repeat.
or a bucket.
whichever.

i get around.

the week of christmas chase became mobile.
not crawling.
rolling.
he can roll himself from one side of the room to the other.
from one room TO another.
and once or twice ALMOST down the little stairs.
it is funny funny funny business to watch.
you can't help yourself from busting up b/c he's so fast about it.
last week we found him in the pantry trying to help himself to some granola bars.
he's a man that knows no one is coming, so he'd better get himself where he wants to go.
{katie tells me that brennan did the same thing when she babysat him at this age,
but i have no memory AND no blog post of it. tragic!}

spiderman in training.
{brennan was so excited that chase got a spiderman outfit for christmas.}
{the little vest is my favorite part.}

shooting the breeze

{where i put a fussy babe when i need my hands free}
...............
after i feed chase,
brennan hops onto the arm of the recliner,
and we lay chase on his back in the crook of the boppy.
then brennan and chase talk.
i taught him how to "ooo" and "ahh" at chase.
so they sit there and go back and forth with each other.
taking turns with their "ooo's" and their "ahh's."
a conversation of sorts,
two men just shooting the breeze.
the most adorable little interlude between big brother and little.
so in love with talking baby chase.
and his little football bum.

baby genius

my child is funny.
i know, all parents say this, but seriously, he is "above average funny."
exhibit A:
baby does not crawl
baby sees empty can of cocoa powder on baby gym
(look for yellow can near center)
baby wants can, but can't reach it
(b/c as i said baby cannot crawl)
so, baby pulls baby gym up in the air to roll can toward him...
baby gets can
baby plays with can
sadly, baby drops can & it rolls away
baby cries b/c he can't get toy & mom won't get it for him
baby stops crying and sees key toy
(again, yellow, but this time it is more to front/bottom of the picture)
baby pulls baby gym with even more force to get toy closer baby gets yellow key toy
conclusion: laziness is an intelligent process folks.
i have a baby genius.
seriously, don't you think you sometimes put in more work to not get off the couch or to not get out of the bed so you can stay on the couch or in the bed?
i do this.
sometimes i will ask sean to close the closet door (b/c it's on his side of the bed, and i don't like it be open when i sleep). he will scoot to the very edge of the bed, use his toes to latch onto the handle, holding his breath, and then pushes the door to close it. all so he won't have to get out of bed. i have been known to make fun of the fact that he would have done less work by just getting up and out of bed to close it in the first place.
do you anything like this?
