a mud bath

it always starts off very innocently.
playing in the puddles.
the mud castles the big kids create.
the really great ones, with tunnels and arches.
then comes the splashing.
soon after, the inching.
and at some point, the mud castle becomes confused with a baby pool.
all in a hard day's work.
but this time, it was EXTRA muddy.
extra mud bath-y.
the scout master had to hose him off.
have you ever been hosed off with hose water?
granted it was hot.
really hot.
but still...
his clothes are still hanging outside on our railing.
coated in mud.
it was a great day.
especially if you're a little loin.

Poor kid, he does not like the being hosed off... but that's what he gets for playing in mud ;)

I vividly remember playing in -and eating mud. I really think that is why I have a fantastic immune system, all of those delicious mud pies. It looks like the loin had a blast (except the whole hose thing)- you can tell how much fun has been had by how dirty a kid is at the end of the day. What a great mom you are!

I l.o.v.e your new background! And your son makes me laugh... maybe it is just your photography skills or your story telling expertise but I almost always get a good chuckle out of visiting your blog. What a good mom you are to let him play in the mud and document it instead of stopping him!

Em, I actually laughed out loud when I saw the picture of him being hosed off. Yeah, not too happy about that was he? Looks like so much fun.

Was it worth it, porker? He might cry the next time he sees mud! He's beggin' on his knees! This is soooo funny, Em!
