5 double crochets

it took me an hour to do that square.
at least it's supposed to be a square.
i need to work on my "tension."
meaning i need to try to be more even with my crochet-ing.
my mom just informed me i'll most likely have to undo it all and start over b/c i have 5 double crochets instead of 4 on one side.
the hardest part is trying to figure out the foreign language of code the pattern is telling you to do.
i'm having flashbacks of the stitch flounce when i was making my apron!
and let's not forget "press the fabric" when i was making brennan's quilt.
"press" means iron, in case you were wondering.
it does NOT mean press it together with the palm of your hands and hope it will stick.
despite having to learn a new language to make another blanket for max, i know i'm going to love it once i get going.
i have the urge to sit and crochet while watching grey's, or whichever show is in my recorder.
i love doing things with my hands.
the satisfaction of making something always feels so great.
still, i'm thinking i should have started this project sooner than now.
good thing grandma casper is making one too b/c i doubt this one will be ready by the time max arrives.
the best part of the entire process was sitting on the couch with my mom, laughing over what the directions were saying.
and then realizing i was supposed to have a square, when mine looked more like an uneven blob of a circle.
i loved the feeling of laughing at myself and learning together.
on my couch.
just crochet-ing away.
and there's just something about all of this pink that's making me feel more like a lady than i ever have before.
i love it.
all of it.

Good for you for even trying! I am not that brave or adventurous, and don't know anyone who is willing to bear the torture of teaching me. and it's true the pink just does something to you. I hated pink my whole life until I had Emma, then I loved it, now it looks like a pink grenade went off in her room-so the love is slightly less.

You are so sweet! And, there is nothing sweeter than a brand new baby girl - can't wait to see pictures of her!!

So awesome. I am sure you will love having it, once you complete it.. even if it is more of a circle :)

I love the shade of pink! And it's the thought that counts, right?
