august calendars {sunflowers}

i never knew why calendars always had pictures sunflowers on the month of august.

i didn't really think about it.

i guess i've always thought the calendar makers just thought sunflowers were pretty and put them there for no particular reason at all.

turns out it's because sunflowers bloom in august.

at least,

that's what i'm thinking now.

amazing what you learn when you garden.
