i don't want to be wasteful {harvest days parade}

the only parade
you'll ever see me at.
harvest days.
sitting in grandma casper's driveway.
the giant hilcrest husky was the highlight of the parade for chase.
and he liked running out into the street to pick up candy.
brennan loved "everything," but he didn't like the scary costume part.
the halloween float always freaks me out too.
max loved the princesses.
she would jump up and wave at them every time.
completely star struck.
it's short,
it's sweet,
and there's always otter pops and enough salt water candy left over
for you to pass out at halloween.
what?
i don't want to be wasteful;)

harvest days '12

saturday was the harvest day's parade.
it is our favorite.
b/c grandma & grandpa casper's house is on the route.
and it starts at 10am.
{early parades just don't work for us.}
so we roll out of bed.
drive in from the back.
and enjoy the festivities.
our favorite part is when they pass out otter pops,
and the motor police do synchronized motorcycle driving tricks:)
andrea's float was in this parade too.
AND
it won another award.
the harvest spirit award.
i can't believe how much max has grown.
{i found out i was pregnant with chase the morning of last year's parade.}

a pumpkin patch {field trip}

it sprinkled on us.
not enough to make you cold.
not enough to need a hood.
just enough to enjoy the pumpkin patch a little more.
i want brennan to stay in preschool forever.

{the end}
...
we travel to where to witches live tomorrow;)
BOO!

happy harvest {from the patch to the porch}

we grew these.
i am proud:)
there are three more still on the vine.
...
tonight i was making pizza and bread sticks.
and decided that anything will taste good if you slather it in butter and garlic salt.
you can't go wrong.
my sunflowers turned yellow at the top this week.
and the birds are all fat from eating the seeds.
so i persuaded sean to cut down the beanstalks.
and that turned into our trip to the pumpkin patch.
which was a LONG walk to the back fence;)
pumpkins and sunflowers are my favorite things to grow.
absolutely no maintenance.
and beautiful harvests in the fall.
and let me tell you.
these pumpkins are perfect.
could not have picked more beautiful pumpkins at a regular patch.
but at the gibson patch,
we grow big, orange, juicy, fat pumpkins.
and i love them.

 happy havest!
