put yo' back into it

you should have seen me
walking through michael's
thursday morning.
imagine this cart with 40 more white geraniums stuffed into the opening behind chase's backside.
OH MY.
it was a pretty sight!
the flower man.
then i had another cart with 10 grape vine wreaths towering in the place where another kid would go,
{and thankfully i just had the one with me,
otherwise i may have had to make the second kid balance them on top of their head
or something crazy like that}
and then the main part was filled with more pink, green, and white geraniums.
i pushed chase's cart all over and back again twice through that store with one hand,
and pulled the second cart with my other arm.
it reminded me of the days when max was a newborn,
and i felt it necessary for brennan to ride in the cart in the kid seat,
with max's infant seat in the main part,
which then forced me to push them in one cart by themselves,
and pull a second cart full of food with the another.
there is a skill to it my friends.
there IS a skill.
put yo' back into it.
put yo' back into it.
memories:)
we did great until we finally made it to the checkout area and had to go over the little carpet lip.
i lost 3 wreaths before my catlike reflexes kicked into play.
god bless the cashier,
as we counted,
double counted,
and then made 4 different transactions
of geraniums,
geraniums,
and more geraniums.
yep, i was that lady.
i have never seen so many geraniums!
i just love those big puff balls that geraniums are.
i want to squish them,
and decorate with them.
and hang them on my front door,
why not the back door too?!
put them in vases around my house,
hang them from the chandeliers!
you get the idea.
i love the flower which is geranium.
i felt like the most accomplished woman as we walked out to the car in the parking lot,
with all of my organized receipts and geraniums.
so happy, i almost thought it was friday.
a whole day early.
anyone need any michael's 40% off coupons?
cause i have 4:)

lost things

i used to be a teacher,
see?
i miss the crafts.
i realized that yesterday.
i have bins AND bins AND bins of all of my old crafts.
and three darling children to do them with:)
good thing:)
.................................
{how many kids can you count above? 3 is right.}
...........................
we've been busy doing really important things today.
a riveting tea party with all of our favorite super heroes.
which led us to wonder where blue and black batman, robin, and green lantern had run off to.
which took us to brennan's bedroom, where max now also sleeps,
whereupon the kids climbed under their beds and came out with treasures!
not the treasure we were looking for,
but other treasures we've been wondering about looking for FOR months.
chase tickled the ivories and brennan declared,
"he's like a real piano man."
the little red piano is officially his new favorite toy.
i just love how babies look sitting at it.
smiling at the sound of the keys as they bang.
when they get older,
the banging sound on the little red piano is less cute.
i dare say annoying,
but little babies,
not annoying,
just darling.
our most exciting find of the day:
LIZARD MAN.
he was lost,
and now he is found.
i think i was jumping up and down the highest.
but i attribute that to my height.
other lost things of great importance that were found:
our favorite thanksgiving book
{"t'was the night before thanksgiving," you MUST read it. it's hilairous.}
sleeping beauty figurine
and max's original binky panda buddy {HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!}
the following occurred when i laid on my tummy to take the above picture of chase...

i give you,
"piano man."

spilled cup and a great laugh

projects.
i'm finding that when you're cooped up inside with a toddler, they need projects.
it's work to get the stuff out.
it's work to help them do it.
it's work to clean the stuff up.
but it's better than the whining of a bored toddler.
and it's better than having destruct-o toddler roar it's head.
not sure if i can do painting more than once a week.
hopefully santa will bring play-do.
and that the stork or Dr. N will bring the little lady before valentine's day.
it's officially painful to turn over at night.
and not in the same way it was with brennan.
so at the risk of sharing too much, we'll just leave it at that.
brennan spilled the water cup on his.
i still think it's quite charming:-)
...
"more videos" for the scout master.
i really wish i could find a way to make money off of my kid's laugh.
and sense of humor.

cinderella...in the princess kind of way

ta-da!!!
the finished product,
complete with ties
pockets
& a sash in back.
sean took this shot above.
he said i looked cute.
how could i not pose after that?

i feel like cinderella tonight...
in the princess kind of way.
remember the pink sash that tied on her pretty pink dress?
now, about those mice...
p.s.
if i made 'em, would you buy 'em?
how much would you want to pay?

stitch flounce?

i love this little apron.
sandie gave it to me over christmas. she had bought it from an almish community when we went to iowa as kids. dad would go with sandie for an entire day to almish country for no other reason than love b/c all of you men know he was not loving that trip to shop for homemade arts and crafts. what a guy! anyhoo, this little number was handmade, and i think it's adorable. i'm currently making three aprons for myself. i bought the cutest little black with pink polka dot fabric and retro pattern. so cute, but seeing that i don't sew, this has been quite the endeavour. i've learned that sewing is like learning a forgein language.
press,
edgestitch,
pin contrast,
stitch flounce,
staystitch,
slipstitch.
what was i thinking? i literally thought i would just go buy the fabric, read the pattern, and vwallah! seriously, i graduated college at the top of my class and these things mean absolutely nothing to me. all of you "sewers" out there, try not to laugh.
i will conquer!
wait, mom, can you help me?
thank goodness for mothers!
