gold pitch

another season under our belts.
i liked fall ball better.
the weather was nicer.
less cold.
less wind.
less rain.
and so forth.
either way,
there's nothing i love more than sitting in the grass watching a game of baseball.
peanuts!
and cracker jacks!
THAT'S
what we've been missin'!
we'll be ready for you fall ball.
peanuts, cracker jacks, and all.

T-Ball & Italy is G-O-N-E.

brennan and cade's 1st tball game was yesterday.
it was FREAKY FREAKY COLD.
for a minute i thought it was january.
the last twenty min. max and i couldn't stand it anymore
and ended up watching wreck it ralph
{my favorite kid movie currently, kids too}
in the car.
heater blazing to 80*.
seat heaters on.
GLORIOUS.
my thermostat said 42*.
but the wind made it feel like 22*.
or less.
it dumped snow in the mountains the night before.
like 18" at deer valley.
and then blew half of the state's tramps away.
sheesh,
max almost blew away cheering brennan and cade on at the game.
RAH RAH RAH RAH RAH!!!
thank you linsey for wooing chase in your toasty warm house.
{above: brennan's first up to bat}
{below: freezing cheering section}

AND
guess
what
else
guys?!
ITALY is gone:)
but not from north korea and their nuke's.
from my favorite carpet cleaners.
i had them do my entire main level AND the recliner chair.
the recliner chair hasn't stopped singing to us since.
"LALALALALALAAAAAAAAAAA"
that's what it's been singing.
a-MAZ-Zing.
how clean it is,
not the singing.
that part has kind of been weird.
now if they could just get rid of the frigid cold temps in april.
snow and then warm up,
or just be warm in general,
but don't be cold WITH the sun out.
b/c that means it's january.
and it is NOT january.
it's april.
at least i thought it was...

chub-a-chubs learns to sit

{check out the changing leaves on the mountains--heart stopping beautiful.}
...............
tonight while brennan played tball i started teaching chase how to sit up on his own.
i love propping my babies up in the grass and then letting them topple over into the soft green cushion it provides.
brennan used to scream when the grass would touch him,
but max and chase just lay there in bliss.
just happy to be alive and laying in the grass.
i was dying over chase's chubby thighs,
and couldn't stop laughing when he would lose his balance and roll backwards.
i would prop him up and position his legs to steady him,
then let go of his hands,
and cheer him on.
when brennan got up to bat i yelled a big "WOOOO!!!" and scared chase half to death.
right
onto
his back.
looking stunned in a calm and confused kind of way.
after ten minutes of being a really good sport he face planted into my knee and cried a little.
i love his cry.
right into my neck.
all cozy and safe.
i'm really going to miss sitting on the grass watching brennan play tball.
last game next week.
go "bean-an"!!!

first base {not kissing}

at brennan's first t-ball game tonight i sat on the grass rocking chase to sleep in the stroller,
sent max with some girls from our neighborhood to play in the sandbox,
chatted with susie about life and how our 4 year old boys are the funniest people alive,
and screamed my guts out for spiderman brennan as he stepped up to bat.
he smacked that ball with the biggest smile on his face and ran to first base.
he waved and smiled at me the entire way.
i think i even got a "hi mom" when he was halfway there.
never worried about winning,
just enjoyed his leisurely run to first base,
waving at me the entire way.
then when he got there he gave me the thumb's up and yelled,
"i'm the guy with the hat!"
{he had the hard batter's hat on.}
there's nothing i would rather do with my afternoons for the next 6 weeks than sit on a grassy knoll with max and chase yelling our guts out for spiderman brennan to get to first base.
and i DON'T mean kissing!;)
is that still first base???
 and no dad, he hasn't learned to spit in the dugout yet.
gross.
i hope he doesn't start that.
but if he does,
i'm sure i'll get a picture of it.
have mercy.

go big orange {t-ball}

i wasn't gonna let him do it.
i was gonna wait until next year.
for heaven's sakes, i still basically have a newborn!
{or not, WAH!!! and hooray all at once}.
but then he started playing baseball in the backyard with us,
went to a baseball game,
and his best friend cade wanted to sign up.
practices once a week at normal people times {check}.
games once a week at normal people times {check}.
fields where they play are close {check}.
summer heat winding down & shaded areas with trees {check PLUS}.
NOTHING ON SATURDAYS {check PLUS PLUS!!!}.
so we did it.
and he loves it.
and he's actually really good at it.
even with his adult sized mitt and spiderman light up shoes.
and that adorable little ball cap,
which he told me was not little,
it was a big kid cap.
he trained his coaches within the first five minutes that his name was not brennan,
"eye on the ball brennan!"
"no, spiderman brennan!"
"right, spiderman brennan, sorry!"
"it's ok, do you know the black spiderman?"
"here comes the ball spiderman brennan."
i can't wait to see how long it takes him to tell coach keith
about the time spiderman came to his birthday party.
funniest kid on the planet.
I LOVE HIM!!!
so he's surprisingly good at throwing, catching, and hitting,
but we could use a little work on his running;)
although mr. confidence thought he was already the MVP.
{thanks to his fabulous cheerleading section.}
